Current Projects

Performance analysis of a Web based Voting Protocol.

Past Projects

Fault-Tolerant Web Services: This was performed as a requirement for partial fulfillment of my Masters degree. Included a full-fledged system which maintains a pool of servers and gives the client a transparent Fault-tolerant view of the service. Prof. Ravi.

Verbocity: A facebook application pertaining to the needs of facebook users who want to view the status message history of all of their contacts. Although, the basic functionality of the history is complete, I am working on the actual goal of displaying the Verbocity (the amount of characters used over a period of time by a user) as bar graphs.

Go-Back-N Analysis (Computer Communication): This project was performed in MATLAB but had less to do with programming. Efficiency of Go-Back-N protocol was to be determined by finding out all the possible scenarios of packet transition and getting the probability function for each case keeping in mind the Window size and packet loss probability. This work was done to analyse the protocol efficiency over different Window sizes and how it affects the system. Prof. Ravi.

3D Sketching and Countour Detection (3D - Computer Vision): This was performed in MATLAB. Main goal was to generate a 3D sketch of a given image using the edge detection and edge orientation methods. This project was done in the course of Prof. Zhu..

Digital Image Processing Algorithms: This field interests me a lot and I have performed various image processing algorithm in C programming language under the guidance of Prof. George Wolberg for point and neighborhood analysis of images. For example, blurring, sharpening, error analysis, histogram analysis, DFT, FFT, resizing, perspective.

Search Implementation (using Vector Space Model ranking):
Perl programming language was used to implement all the techniques (stemming, indexing, ranking etc.) over a record of a 1000 documents and analysis of indexing and CPU time usage. Studied Web crawlers - WebSphinx and Heritrix. All this was done under the guidance of Prof. Abbe Mowshowitz.

Project Eterno - Digital Image Compression using Wavelet Transform
: Undergraduate senior year project performed in MATLAB 6.1. I used MATLAB because of the ease of numerical and array calculations. Two of the toolboxes of MATLAB namely, Image Processing Toolbox and Wavelet Toolbox were highly helpful. This was to implement the latest version of JPEG, i.e. the JPEG2000 image format.

A Study on Web Technologies - “Intelligent Thin Clients for Web Applications”:
A published poster presentation to study the contemporary technologies on how to make the most of our client side machines and reduce the server load and save bandwidth as well.
Abstract available on request.
